Foreign minister S Jaishankar took part in the SCO foreign ministers’ meet this week, meeting his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and President Xi Jinping. During those meetings, Jaishankar emphasised “mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity”.
Over the past nine months, there have been signs that India-China ties are thawing. After the troop disengagement at friction points in Eastern Ladakh last Oct, Beijing agreed to resume the Kailash Mansarovar yatra this year. But have India-China relations truly turned a corner?
