PM Modi says ‘took resolve of Op Sindoor from Bihar’; takes jibe at Lalu Yadav – top quotes | India News
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a visit to East Champaran on Friday lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, India’s cross-border action targeted at the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. PM Modi also highlighted his government’s welfare schemes and infrastructure push and drew a contrast between the current NDA govt and the previous RJD era, which he accused of neglecting Bihar. In a clear jibe at Lalu Prasad Yadav and the RJD-Congress alliance, he accused the previous governments of financial discrimination against the state. “They were taking revenge from Nitish ji’s government,” he said, adding that the NDA had since reversed that trend by investing significantly more in Bihar’s growth.Addressing the massive rally, PM Modi flagged off four Amrit Bharat trains and inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore.
Below are key quotes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address in Motihari:
- “I took the resolve of Operation Sindoor from the land of Bihar and the entire world watches its success today.”
- “In the last 11 years, more than 4 crore houses have been built for the poor in the country under the PM Awas Yojana. Of these, about 60 lakh houses have been built in Bihar alone. In our Motihari district alone, about 3 lakh poor families have got concrete houses and the count is constantly increasing.”
- “To take eastern India forward, we have to make Bihar a developed Bihar. Today, work is happening so fast in Bihar because there is a government working for Bihar at the centre and in the state. When there was a Congress and RJD government at the centre, Bihar got only around 2 lakh crore rupees in 10 years of UPA. That means these people were taking revenge from Nitish ji’s government. In 2014, you gave me the opportunity to serve at the centre. After coming to the centre, I also ended that old politics of taking revenge from Bihar. In the last 10 years, in the 10 years of NDA, the amount given for the development of Bihar is many times more than before.”
- “Our resolve is that in the coming times, Motihari should be known in the east just like Mumbai is in western India. Just like there are opportunities in Gurugram, Gaya should also have similar opportunities. Like Pune, there should be industrial development in Patna. Like Surat, Santhal Pargana should also develop. Like Jaipur, new records of tourism should be made in Jalpaiguri and Jajpur. Like Bangalore, the people of Birbhum should also progress.”
- “The world is progressing very fast in the 21st century. The power that was once held by only the western countries is now being dominated and participated in by the eastern countries. The eastern countries are now catching a new pace of development. Just as the eastern countries in the world are moving ahead in the race of development, in India this is the era of our eastern states.”
