No INDIA bloc for Mumbai civic polls, says UBT’s Sanjay Raut | Mumbai News
MUMBAI: In an indication that there may be no Maha Vikas Aghadi for Mumbai civic polls and other local body elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut Thursday said INDI bloc was formed for LS polls and MVA for Maharashtra elections, and there is no need for either bloc in civic polls. Raut said there is pressure from people that Sena (UBT) and MNS fight BMC and other local body polls together. At the same time, Congress MLA Nana Patole said local body polls are fought by taking local workers into confidence, so it is not clear if equations for these elections will work out as per existing alliances.Raut said, “Local polls don’t demand such coalitions… Final decision will be taken once poll schedule is announced.”Patole said, “In all cities and districts, polls will be fought taking into account (opinions of) local workers. All parties are preparing to go it alone. We can’t say now how things will pan out in each city & district.”
