Ever since Jr NTR was announced as part of YRF’s expanding spy universe through the highly anticipated action film War 2, fan speculation has been non-stop. Questions around his screen time and the significance of his role began trending shortly after the teaser dropped, with many fans fearing that his appearance might be limited to a glorified cameo. Now, producer Naga Vamsi has set the record straight.In an interview with Gulte Pro, Vamsi quashed rumours of Jr NTR‘s limited presence in the film. “NTR being there for 30-40 minutes is not true,” he clarified. “Both of them will be there throughout the film. After the first 15 minutes, Tarak anna will enter, and both of them will dance to a song. It is a commercially packed film.”Rs 80 crore bet on ‘War 2’Vamsi’s Sitara Entertainments has reportedly acquired the Telugu distribution rights for War 2 for a whopping Rs 80 crore. Speaking about the high-stakes deal, he said, “I bought it because all these commercial elements will be there. How everything will come together, even I will watch it with the audience in the morning show. Based on my faith in NTR’s judgement, I bought the film.”Known for his close association with Jr NTR, Vamsi is also producing the actor’s upcoming mythological project with Trivikram Srinivas, believed to be based on Lord Karthikeya.

‘War 2’ wraps shoot, targets Independence Day 2025 releaseMeanwhile, the shooting of War 2 has officially wrapped. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in lead roles, with Kiara Advani also playing a significant part. Shot across five countries, the action-packed sequel promises six large-scale set pieces and will hit theatres on August 14, 2025, a day ahead of India’s Independence Day, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
