Mumbai: State Congress leader Nana Patole demanded a statement from the Mahayuti govt on the “honey-trap in Mantralaya, Nashik and Thane”, in the state assembly on Thursday. He claimed he had a pen drive on this issue, but did not want to malign the govt.This was the second day that the Opposition demanded a statement on reports that govt officers, ministers and politicians were ensnared in a honeytrap.Patole said: “This is a serious issue and govt information should not go into the hands of anti-nationals. I was asking for a statement on this, but there was no response. I have a pen drive, but do not want to malign the govt.” In response, deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde said, “We have taken this seriously and will look into it.”Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Bhaskar Jadhav accused the state govt of trying to mislead the Opposition. “Minister of state for home Yogesh Kadam made a statement that the allegations were withdrawn and there is a settlement. And now Shinde says the govt will make a statement. The govt is misleading the Opposition,” he said.Kadam clarified that his statement was unrelated to the alleged honeytrap. However, the Opposition raised slogans saying, “Honeytrap govt,” and walked out of the state assembly.
