The moment that drew most attention came late in Australia’s innings when Rohit was seen stepping in to guide off-spinner Washington Sundar during a tense phase. With Shubman Gill officially leading the side, Rohit’s animated gestures and on-field advice reflected his continued involvement in India’s tactical play. Former India batter Mohammad Kaif praised Rohit’s performance and presence, calling him “a man who cannot bear to see India lose.” Kaif said, “Rohit Sharma has India running through his veins. The example was right there — the pitch was tough, the pressure was immense. Shubman Gill got out, Virat Kohli got out, but Rohit stood firm and scored runs when it mattered.” He further added, “What he did afterward with Shubman Gill on the ground showed what kind of person he is — a true professional.
