‘Engineering marvel’: Viral video mocks ‘narrow footpath’ on Mumbai’s Gokhale bridge; watch | Mumbai News
MUMBAI: A video highlighting the narrow footpath on a section of Andheri’s Gokhale bridge, which was fully commissioned in May, has gone viral, racking up over a million views. The post, by the handle @IndianGems_ dripping with sarcasm, reads: “This is Rs 111-crore Gokhale Bridge, Mumbai, opened 2 months ago. Look at the size & design of the footpath. Engineering Marvel.“A reply to the post called it a one-way footpath, while another said that it seemed like the footpath was an afterthought. In its defence, BMC pointed out that only a section of the footpath, and not the entire stretch, is narrow. “Also, a person can walk on it,” said an official.
