Contrary to what Israel’s telling US, Tel Aviv’s continuing strikes may make Tehran more determined to obtain nuclear weapons. All bets are off

Many predicted that one day, Israel would attack Iran. The two countries have already been in a conflict that has played out primarily in other countries for years. But a war between Israel and Iran has usually been seen as something that the world should work to avoid.
Now that war is happening. Despite the amount of time people have spent predicting what would happen, there is a high level of uncertainty. Two main factors differ from the many war games carried out in the past. One is that Iran’s ability to retaliate has been systematically degraded by Israel in a campaign on multiple fronts since the Oct 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.
