Residents sight leopard near Mallasandra in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News
Bengaluru: Panic gripped apartment communities in and around Mallasandra village near Talaghattapura, off Kanakapura Road, Saturday afternoon after some residents spotted a leopard in the vicinity. Bengaluru Urban forest division deployed Leopard Task Force (LTF) personnel and a combing operation was carried out in the evening.Forest officials said residents spotted the leopard sneaking into a concrete block production yard belonging to a top real estate firm on Holiday Village Resort Road. “The leopard’s movement wasn’t captured in any of the CCTV cameras nearby. However, a few residents who sighted the animal earlier told us it was chased by stray dogs and sneaked into the yard. Even though there were pug marks of dogs, there was no marks of the leopard,” a forest official said. Keeping in mind civilian and vehicular movement in the area, officials called off the combing operation in the evening and decided to relaunch it at night.
