EAM Jaishankar Hails India-EU Ties Amid FTA Talks

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a discussion with the Indian diaspora in Luxembourg, expressing optimism about stronger India-EU ties in 2026. He said India will dedicate more time, energy, and attention to its engagement with Europe. Highlighting Luxembourg’s importance within the European Union, Jaishankar noted its influence in Brussels and its role in supporting India’s efforts to enhance relations with the EU. He added that free trade agreement negotiations are in an advanced stage, covering sectors like technology, defence, connectivity, and mobility. Jaishankar emphasized that countries are reassessing priorities, and this context is bringing India and the EU closer, forecasting a positive upswing in bilateral relations in the year ahead.
