The rescue operation, carried out by Swami, went on well because he took time to analyse the situation before he carried out the rescue mission in a manner that ensured the two parties involved, namely the residence and the snake, were not harmed in the process. “The operation was completed smoothly, and no injuries were reported. The snake was later released into a safe and suitable habitat, in line with standard wildlife rescue protocols,” Prabhu Swami said. An Indian rat snake, Ptyas mucosa, is a common species in India. It has a very slender body and is generally not aggressive. They are of great importance in keeping the ecology balanced, both in the city and in the countryside, due to the fact that they feed on a large number of rodents.
