Bengaluru: An 80-year-old man and his 39-year-old son, a software engineer, were killed in a road accident near Thotagere in northwestern Bengaluru Thursday evening when their car crashed into a roadside tree. Four others, including two women and two girls of the family, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at private hospitals. The deceased have been identified as Veerabhadraswamy and his son Harish, both of whom died on impact, according to police. The injured are Gouramma, 62, Maithri, 32, Siri, 10, and Vandana, 8. Maithri, Harish’s wife, is said to be in a critical condition. The other three are reported to be out of danger. Gouramma is Veerabhadraswamy’s wife, Siri is Harish’s daughter, and Vandana is the daughter of Maithri’s sister. The accident occurred on Hesaraghatta Road around 5.30pm while the family was travelling from Gauribidanur in Chikkaballapura district to T Dasarahalli.
