CTET Feb 2026: CBSE allows one-time window to complete pending applications from December 27 at ctet.nic.in
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a one-time facility for candidates who could not complete their CTET February 2026 applications. The decision comes after several grievances were received following the closure of the online application process for the 21st edition of the CTET examination.According to the official press release, CBSE has allowed candidates with incomplete registrations to finish their applications through the official portal, ctet.nic.in. If you were stuck midway and thought you missed your chance, this update gives you one last shot.Application numbers and incomplete registrationsCBSE stated that the CTET February 2026 application process opened on November 27, 2025 and closed on December 18, 2025 at 11.59 PM. During this period, a total of 25,30,581 candidates successfully applied for the examination.The board also shared day-wise data to explain the heavy rush towards the deadline. As per the press note, 3,53,218 candidates submitted applications on the second last day, while 4,14,981 candidates applied on the final day. Despite this, 1,61,127 registrations remained incomplete and were not converted into final submissions.One-time facility approved by CBSEAfter reviewing the complaints, CBSE said it took a “sympathetic view” of the matter since the CTET examination is being organised after a gap of around one year. The board confirmed that candidates who had initiated the registration process would be given a single opportunity to complete it.“The facility will be made available on the portal from 11.00 AM on December 27, 2025 till December 30, 2025 at 11.59 PM,” the CBSE press release stated, quoted by the official CTET notice. The board clarified that this window is strictly for completing existing registrations.No fresh registrations or further correctionsCBSE clearly mentioned that no new registrations will be allowed during this period. Candidates using the special window must verify their details carefully before final submission.The board warned that “no further opportunity will be given to them for correction of particulars,” according to the notice issued by the Director (CTET) in conversation with the official CTET portal. CBSE reiterated that this is a one-time measure and urged candidates to complete the process within the given window to avoid missing the examination.
