NIFTEE 2026 registration underway: NTA adds two new exam cities, total centres increase to 102
NIFTEE 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the addition of two new examination cities for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026, expanding the total number of test locations to 102 across the country.The decision follows a request from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and aims to improve accessibility and convenience for candidates, particularly those from the concerned regions, the agency said in an official notice.Newly added NIFTEE 2026 exam citiesAs per the latest notification, the following cities have been added to the existing list of examination centres:
- Vapi, Gujarat – City Code: GJ34
- Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (UT) – City Code: DD01
Earlier, NIFTEE 2026 was scheduled to be conducted across 100 cities. With the inclusion of these two additional locations, candidates will now have a wider range of choices while selecting their preferred exam centre.Candidates can read the official notice here.
Option to change exam city during correction window
Candidates who have already submitted their application forms and selected other examination cities will be allowed to opt for the newly added cities during the application correction window. The correction facility will open after the closure of the application submission deadline, as per the schedule to be notified separately by the NTA.The agency has advised applicants not to wait until the last date and to complete the registration process well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
NIFTEE 2026 exam overview
The NIFTEE 2026 registration process is currently underway, following the public notice issued on December 8, 2025. Entrusted by NIFT, the NTA is conducting the entrance examination for admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Lateral Entry, Artisan and PhD programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.The entrance test will be held in both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen-and-Paper Test (PBT) modes, depending on the test component. The General Ability Test (GAT) will be conducted in CBT mode, while the Creative Ability Test (CAT) will be held in PBT mode.The Stage 1 examination is scheduled for February 8, 2026 (Sunday). Details regarding exam city allotment, centre address, shift timings and reporting instructions will be mentioned on the candidate’s admit card. The advance city intimation slip and admit card will be released on dates to be announced later.
Important advisory for candidates
The NTA has clarified that while every effort will be made to allot an examination centre in one of the cities selected by the candidate, it reserves the right to assign a centre in a different city due to administrative or logistical constraints.All other terms and conditions mentioned in the NIFTEE 2026 Information Bulletin and earlier public notices remain unchanged.Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official websites of the National Testing Agency, NIFT, and the NIFTEE portal for the latest updates.
