MCC extends NEET PG 2025 resignation window for round 1 and 2 seats; check official notice here
MCCNEET PG 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the resignation facility for candidates allotted seats in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2025 Round 1 and Round 2. The decision comes after MCC received multiple requests from candidates seeking to resign their seats following the declaration of state counselling results.As per the official notice, candidates who wish to resign their allotted NEET PG seats can do so through the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in, within the revised timeline.
NEET PG 2025 resignation window: Key dates
As per the revised schedule released by the MCC, the resignation window will remain open on the following dates:
- Resignation window opens: December 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM
- Resignation window closes: December 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM
Candidates who have not yet resigned from their Round 1 or Round 2 seats are advised to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe.
Important instructions for NEET PG seat resignation
The Medical Counselling Committee has outlined the following guidelines regarding the resignation process:
- Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 who have already joined their college but now wish to resign can vacate their seat within the designated resignation period. However, this will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit.
- Candidates who were upgraded in Round 2, accepted the upgraded seat, and have joined the allotted institute can also resign from their seat during the extended resignation window, subject to loss of the security deposit.
- It is mandatory for candidates to physically report to the allotted college to complete the resignation process. Candidates must ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated through the MCC-provided portal by the allotted college. Failure to generate the resignation letter through the official portal will render the resignation ‘Null & Void’.

NEET PG Round 2 seat allotment
The Round 2 seat allotment result for NEET PG 2025 was declared on December 16, 2025.
