Mumbai records season lowest temperature as winter sets in

Mumbai: The city woke up to a nip in the air on Sunday as minimum temperatures dipped below 20°C for the first time this season, signalling the onset of the city’s brief winter spell.According to the IMD’s Santacruz observatory, the minimum temperature recorded was 19.6°C on Sunday morning. This was 2.3 degrees below normal. The IMD Colaba observatory recorded minimum temperatures of 22.4°C, which was 1.7 degrees below normal.The cooler morning comes as Mumbai typically begins to experience mild winter-like conditions through November and December.In its forecast for the week, the weather bureau has forecast dry conditions for the city as well as adjoining areas, namely Thane and Navi Mumbai.Day temperatures recorded by the city were also below normal. The IMD Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 32°C, which was two degrees below normal, while the IMD Santacruz observatory recorded 31.8°C, which was 2.6 degrees below normal.
