Tahsildars in Karnataka told to clear pending cases in 90 days | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: Revenue minister Krishna Byre Gowda Monday set a 90-day deadline for all tahsildars to clear cases in their courts, warning of disciplinary action against those who fail to comply.In a video conference with tahsildars, the minister expressed displeasure over delays. “Over the past two years, the resolution of dispute applications in tahsildar courts has seen significant progress. Previously, it took 212 days to resolve a case, but it has now been reduced to 82 days. However, it is unacceptable that the resolution of dispute applications is losing momentum again.”He added that while many tahsildars perform well, some are damaging the department’s reputation. “Such behavior is intolerable. Therefore, if anyone keeps a case pending beyond 90 days in the future, disciplinary action will be taken against them,” he added.The directive comes three days after the govt appointed seven special deputy commissioners to clear 5,276 pending cases in Bengaluru Urban DC courts within six months. Each officer has been allotted 500–700 cases to resolve.
