Sleep quality deteriorates significantly after age 45, because of the combination of menopause symptoms, hormone fluctuations, stress factors and medical illnesses. Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, insomnia etc, can be identified through symptoms including difficulty falling or staying asleep, along with insomnia, frequently waking up, and night sweats in women, and excessive daytime sleepiness.
