Navi Mumbai: A security guard of a private company in the Mahape MIDC region was shocked to find a snake coiled up inside one of his shoes, which he kept outside the security cabin on Monday morning. A snake rescuer, Akshay Dange, was called to the spot to safely remove the reptile, which turned out to be an over three-foot-long cobra. “The cobra was reluctant to come out of the shoe since it was a dry and comfortable space for the snake. Since such reptiles are cold-blooded creatures, they often seek out warm and dry places during the rainy season. I advised all the security guards on that site not to keep their shoes out in the open for this very reason,” said Dange.The rescued cobra was later released in a forested area, away from human settlements.
