KALYAN: A snake trapped in a plastic net for about 5 hours was rescued by animal lovers in Kalyan on Tuesday.A snake got trapped in a net near Mahesh Patil’s house in Kolivali village of Kalyan. While trying to free itself, it became even more entangled and struggled to get out.Seeing this, Patil contacted animal friend Prem Aher of WAAR Foundation for help. Upon receiving the information, animal lovers Prem Aher and Tanmay Mane reached the spot and safely freed the snake by cutting the plastic net.During this time, they spread awareness among the local people, explaining that the rescued snake was a non-venomous rat snake and posed no danger to humans.In this incident, the snake sustained minor scratches on its middle part. After a proper medical examination, the snake was released into the forest on Wednesday under the guidance of the Forest Department.
