Drunk vandals damage 18 vehicles in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News
Bengaluru: A gang of four miscreants vandalised 18 vehicles parked on the roadside at Hongasandra on Saturday night. The damaged vehicles include SUVs, cars and autorickshaws.The incident came to light in the early hours of Sunday. Bommanahalli police detained all four accused.According to a complaint filed by one of the residents, Sridhar, he came out of his house around 5.30am and found his car vandalised. He also noticed that other vehicles parked on the roadside were damaged. The incident took place near the house of Bommanahalli MLA M Satish Reddy.Police who checked on CCTV footage of the area found two people riding a two-wheeler and attacking the vehicles. There were two others damaging the vehicles while walking. They used objects such as iron rods, wooden logs, and stones from the roadside for the crime.Bommanahalli police detained all four suspects who are being interrogated. “They committed the crime under the influence of alcohol. We registered an FIR”, a senior officer said.One of the vehicle owners said, “We were called by aides of a local political leader for a compromise. They offered us 50% of the money for the damage for each vehicle now and promised to pay the rest in a few days. We have sought some time to make a decision.”
