Speeding SUV kills woman working in aerospace firm in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman working in a private aerospace company was knocked down by an speeding Toyota Fortuner on Bagalur Road Thursday evening. The victim is Nandini H from Huskur who stayed in a paying guest accommodation in Bagalur. The accused is a middle-aged advocate, who was driving the SUV. Based on preliminary investigation, police said the accident happened around 6.30pm at Budigere Cross Junction, where four roads connect. Nandini was riding her scooter (registration number KA-52-X-3790) from Budigere Main Road. The SUV (KA-19-MG-9000) was coming from another road. Police said when the vehicles neared the junction, they collided head-on. According to witnesses, the SUV was overspeeding and failed to notice the scooterist, who was supposed to slow down at the junction.Nandini was working in a company based near Peenya as an aerospace quality analyst for the last six months. She celebrated her 25th birthday with family on May 17.Chikkajala traffic police registered a case against the advocate based on a complaint filed by her company manager. He was arrested and released on bail. When the SUV hit Nandini, she sustained severe head injuries. Commuters alerted police about the incident and rushed her to a private hospital in Devanahalli. Later, she was shifted to another hospital in Yelahanka, where doctors declared her dead.
