Bengaluru: Eight police officials from the state laid down their lives while performing their duty last year, said chief minister Siddaramaiah Tuesday.Addressing the gathering at the Police Commemoration Day in the city, Siddaramaiah said 191 police officials across the country died on duty last year, of which eight were from the state.Siddaramaiah said the annual health check-up amount for police has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per head. Orders have been issued to employ 1,600 family members of police officials on compensatory grounds in different govt jobs.
