Fifth man arrested for sending derogatory messages to Darshan’s wife | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old self-employed man from Bagalkot in north Karnataka for allegedly sending obscene messages to actor Darshan Thoogudeepa’s wife, Vijayalakshmi.The accused, S Dariyappa, is the fifth man to be arrested by the city police in the case. Four people, including a techie from Davanagere, were arrested last week, and are in judicial custody at Bengaluru Central Prison. “We will have to take a statement from Dhariyappa, who had sent the lewd comment from his Instagram ID. After the statement, he will be produced before the local court on Thursday,” an investigating officer said.

Last week, Vijayalakshmi met city police commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh, to get an update on the investigation into her complaint of online harassment. Darshan along with actor Pavitra Gowda and their associates is the main accused in the sensational 2024 murder of his fan Renukaswamy.
