Bengaluru: A gang of four, including two employees of a builder, were arrested in connection with the theft of gold ornaments, silver articles and cash from the residence of the builder in Vaderahalli, Hesaraghatta Main Road.The two arrested accused, car driver Narendra, 28, from Doddaballapur and domestic help Manjeet Ram, 28, from Darbhanga in Bihar, were employed by the builder. The other two suspects, bus driver Chandan, 27, and mason Manjunath, 36, are friends of Narendra and residents of Doddaballapur, police said.Cops recovered 550 grams of gold ornaments, 4kg of silver articles and Rs 4 lakh in cash from the accused. Their total value is estimated at Rs 1 crore. Builder Gopal Shinde, 59, who had gone to Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra with family for a week on Dec 23, found the back door of his house open on his return. The cupboard doors in the master bedroom were broken and household belongings were scattered all around. He said gold ornaments, including chains, bangles, earrings, three mangalya chains, three bracelets and eight rings, about 13kg of silver articles, an Apple laptop, a gold watch, a Rolex watch, an Apple watch, and Rs 10 lakh in cash, were stolen from his house. Police checked CCTV footage and gathered clues about the involvement of Chandan and Manjunath. They were traced to Hosadurga bus stand in Chitradurga district and arrested on Jan 3.
