Mumbai: An independent candidate contesting the municipal election from Ward No. 122 in Powai has released a manifesto on a Rs 500 stamp paper, pledging to fulfil key promises within 100 days of being elected. The candidate, Prashant Thakur, solemnly promised to resolve and diligently address most of the key civic issues of Powai within 100 days of assuming office. The promises include ensuring pothole-free roads, ensuring encroachment-free footpaths, improving garbage management and overall cleanliness, regular cleaning and conservation of Powai lake and ensuring humane management, dignity, and proper care of stray dogs and pets within Powai, among other promises.“There are many issues that can be resolved in the immediate future. However, nobody gives it a thought. I have pledged to fulfil all the things mentioned in my manifesto within 100 days and I have notarised my manifesto affidavit. I have framed the manifesto after consulting residents of Hiranandani Gardens. For instance, the traffic problem can be resolved by roping in IIT-Bombay students,” Prashant Thakur said.Resolving water supply and sewage issues on a sustainable basis and promoting a drug-free, safe and secure Powai are among the promises that Thakur, who has been associated with BJP till recently, has made in the manifesto.
