Rajasthan Forest Guard recruitment 2025: 785 posts announced, eligibility, exam pattern and key details here
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has announced a major recruitment drive for candidates seeking government jobs in the state. Through the Rajasthan Forest Guard Recruitment 2025, the board will fill 785 vacancies in the Forest Department. The posts include Forest Guard, Forester (Vanpal), and Surveyor. A short notification has been released, while the detailed notification with application dates and exam schedule is expected soon. Candidates who have passed Class 10 or Class 12 can apply for these posts. The recruitment process will include a written examination followed by physical tests. Interested candidates are advised to carefully check the eligibility conditions and start their preparation early, especially for the physical efficiency test, which plays a key role in the selection process.
Vacancy details and eligibility
As per the notification, a total of 785 posts will be filled under this recruitment. Out of these, 483 posts are for Forest Guard, 259 posts for Forester (Vanpal), and 43 posts for Surveyor. These vacancies are spread across different forest divisions in Rajasthan.For the Forest Guard post, candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board. For the Forester (Vanpal) post, candidates should have passed Class 12. Candidates applying for the Surveyor post must have passed Class 12 along with an ITI certificate in Civil Survey or a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and awareness of Rajasthan’s culture may also be required.The age limit for Forest Guard is 18 to 24 years, while for Forester and Surveyor, it is 18 to 40 years. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.
Selection process and exam pattern
The selection process for Rajasthan Forest Guard Recruitment 2025 will be conducted in several stages. Candidates will first appear for a written examination, followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Those who qualify will be called for document verification and a medical examination.The written exam will be held in offline mode. It will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. There will be negative marking, and one-third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Questions will be asked from General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, and Reasoning.
Physical test, application fee and salary
The physical tests will be different for male and female candidates. Male candidates will have to clear a long-distance walking test along with height and chest measurements. Female candidates will also appear for a walking test and physical measurements. The detailed standards will be mentioned in the full notification.The application fee is Rs 600 for General, OBC, and MBC candidates, while Rs 400 is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwD candidates. The fee will be paid online.Selected candidates will be paid as per Pay Level 4 under the 7th Pay Commission. The monthly salary is expected to range between Rs 20,200 and Rs 65,000, including allowances.
