Deepika Padukone turns 40: Balanced diet, MOTR Pilates and consistency, 3 simple non-negotiable fitness mantras for the birthday girl

The beautiful Shantipriya, who is a true Mastani for cinema, and has made everyone fall for Naina, the gorgeous Deepika Padukone, celebrates her 40th birthday today. She is one of the artists who, time and again, has shown tremendous growth with every passing year. In addition to her strong opinions and acting prowess, Deepika Padukone impresses and inspires with her fitness regimen. Even at 40, she is fit as a fiddle and ready to take on any challenge, thanks to some of her non-negotiable fitness mantras. So today, in honour of her 40th birthday, let’s take a look at what the queen follows to stay fit.

Deepika Padukone follows a balanced diet

Deepika Padukone and her love for food have been highlighted in several media interactions. Even during Kapil Sharma’s show, she confessed that she enjoys munching on good snacks like Banana chips. In an interview with Curly Tales, she spoke about her fondness for a cheese and chilli recipe. Also, during her appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan’ with Alia Bhatt, it was revealed that Deepika enjoys French fries as well. Having said that, Deepika understands that eating things in a certain proportion is important, and creating a balance is essential. Thus, she stays away from crash diets or meal plans that lack sustainability. In a March 2024 post, she shared, “Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read. The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around the word ‘Diet’. We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less and to eat all of the things we detest.” She continued, “What ‘Diet’ really means is the total of all the food and drink consumed by an individual. The word actually comes from the Greek word “diaita,” which means “way of life.” I’ve always, for as long as I can remember, followed a ‘Balanced Diet’. And it is for me ‘a way of life’. I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above!😅 But it most certainly isn’t my way of life. Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) is that those words couldn’t be truer.”

Deepika Padukone’s dedication to pilates

Pilates has been a very important part of Deepika’s fitness journey. Even after embracing motherhood, the actress made sure to follow Pilates to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Her trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala, shared a video of the actress doing a MOTR Pilates routine, and it simply inspired Deepika’s fans!“Deepika Padukone’s MOTR Pilates routine – a perfect way to kickstart your day with a burst of energy and positivity,” Yasmin wrote before adding, “MOTR is indeed a great tool for those who love to travel and stay fit.” Elaborating further about the routine, she mentioned, “The MOTR (Movement On The Roller) is a portable Pilates machine that combines the benefits of a foam roller, a resistance band, and a Pilates reformer into one compact and versatile piece of equipment. The machine is lightweight and easy to carry, which makes it perfect for taking with you wherever you go.”

Deepika Padukone’s 10-minute workout plan, because consistency matters

We all often complain that out of 24 hours, we can spare even an hour for ourselves, for a workout. Well, Deepika Padukone, who is one of the busiest stars too, faces such a situation, yet she manages to take at least 10 minutes out of her hectic schedule. Speaking about the same with Tweak India, she shared, “If I had only 10 minutes, I would probably do a quick cardio and a stretching session, but nothing too sudden, because I don’t believe in doing anything to increase your heart rate suddenly. Whether it’s on a treadmill… maybe like a brisk walk or going for a jog, and then a few yoga stretches such as cat-cow, some spinal articulation, focusing on body parts like neck, shoulder, mobility, spine, hip, ankles. These three simple things help Deepika stay fit, young and glowing.
