In the wake of ‘Dhurandhar’s remarkable box office triumph, whispers in the industry indicate that Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated ‘King’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s visually stunning ‘Love and War’ could also be divided into two thrilling installments. With talks heating up, moviegoers might see these epic tales hitting theaters just months apart.

Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has been rampaging the box office since its release in theaters. The movie has crossed the Rs 1160 crore mark at the worldwide box office. And the second part of the movie will be arriving in theaters in March this year. Amidst the massive success of the film, a report has surfaced stating that Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘King’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Love and War’ may follow in the footsteps of ‘Dhurandhar’, releasing them in two parts.

‘King’ and ‘Love and War’ will release in two parts?

According to the Bollywood Hungama report, discussions in the film teams of Shah Rukh Khan’s film and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’ over the release of the projects are going on. A source told the website, “Both ‘King’ and ‘Love And War’ are big-budget spectacles and have gone beyond what was on paper when it comes to the cost of production. As ‘Dhurandhar’ has set a trend, both SRK and Bhansali are individually contemplating splitting their epics into two parts and releasing them in a gap of less than 6 months.The report further stated that the SLB’s film might arrive in August 2026 and January 2027. On the other hand, SRK’s action flick is considering September 2026 and March 2027. The report added that these discussions are just at the initial stages, and no final decision has been taken as of now. As per the report, the dissection of movies into two parts will take place only if the makers have enough footage to do so. The final call will be taken after editing of the films.

Why two parts?

As per the report, if the makers come up with two parts, it would not just mean more financial returns through satellite and digital rights but also more “creative freedom to explore sub-tracks.”The insider further told the publication, “‘Dhurandhar’ has infused a fresh perspective in all creators as well as business honchos. The next few months will be exciting.”
