Bird hit brings Belagavi Vande Bharat to a halt for 1 hour | Bengaluru News
Bengaluru: Vande Bharat Express (no. 26752), running between Bengaluru and Belagavi, halted for nearly 1 hour at Doddabele station, 48km from Bengaluru, after a bird strike disrupted power supply to the train. The incident occurred around 3pm Friday while the train was heading towards Belagavi. The bird hit the train’s pantograph — the rooftop equipment that draws electricity from the overhead power line above the track. The impact killed the bird on the spot, according to railway officials.
A South Western Railway official said, “The train was stopped at Doddabele station following the incident. After the bird was removed from the pantograph and power supply restored, the train resumed its journey towards Belagavi.”
