Eligibility criteria and age limit

To be eligible for OPSC AAO Recruitment 2026, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture) or Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture (B.Sc. Horticulture) from a recognized university. No other degree will be considered valid for this post.The minimum age required is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 38 years. The age will be calculated as on January 1, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, SEBC, women, persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen, as per government norms.

Selection process and exam pattern

The Assistant Agriculture Officer selection procedure includes a written examination and an interview. Candidates who achieve a qualifying score in the written exam only will be invited for the interview or personality test.The written exam will be held online. Two papers of 100 marks each will be set, thus the total marks will be 200. The exam will consist of 200 multiple choice questions. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The exam will be held on February 19, 2026.

Candidates selected for the AAO post will receive a salary under Pay Level 10 as per Odisha government pay rules.
