‘Legal Action Will Be Pursued’: Delhi Govt Warns Over ‘Stray Dog Duty For Teachers’ Claim | TOI Shorts
The Directorate of Education, Delhi government, has strongly refuted viral claims on social and digital media suggesting that government school teachers were instructed to count stray dogs. Addressing the issue, Director of Education Veditha Reddy categorically termed the claims false, fabricated and baseless, clarifying that no such order, circular or policy was ever issued. She stressed that teachers are assigned only academic responsibilities and such misinformation harms their morale and dignity. Officials said the false narrative created confusion among teachers, parents and the public. The department has taken formal cognisance of the matter, preserved digital evidence, and filed a complaint with the Delhi Police over impersonation, defamation and misuse of social media.
