UPSC CDS (1) 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (I), 2025 result. The result has been published in merit list format on the official website at upsc.gov.in.As per the official website, a total of 535 candidates have qualified based on their performance in the written examination and have been shortlisted for the interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).Out of the 535 shortlisted candidates:473 are male candidates and 62 are female candidates. These candidates are eligible for admission to various defence academies for courses starting in 2026.
Academies and courses covered
The shortlisted candidates are eligible for admission to the following academies:
- Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun – 123rd Short Service Commission Course (Men)
- Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala
- Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad – Flying Training
- Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai – 37th Short Service Commission (Men) Course and 31st Short Service Commission (Women Non-Technical) Course
The number of vacancies as intimated by the government includes 275 vacancies for Short Service Commission (Men) and 18 vacancies for Short Service Commission (Women Non-Technical).Important points for candidates
- The result is provisional, and medical examination results are not included at this stage.
- Final selection will depend on medical fitness and verification of eligibility.
- Educational qualifications of candidates will be verified by the respective Service Headquarters.
- Candidates’ marks will be released after the final result is declared.
