JEE Advanced AAT 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the syllabus for the JEE Advanced Architecture Aptitude Test (JEE Advanced AAT) 2026. Candidates who plan to appear for the architecture aptitude test can download the syllabus from the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.AAT is conducted for students who wish to take admission to the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) course at IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

What JEE Advanced AAT 2026 tests

The JEE Advanced AAT exam checks a candidate’s drawing skills, creativity, imagination, and understanding of space and design. The test focuses on how well a student can observe objects, think creatively, and present ideas clearly through drawings.

JEE Advanced AAT 2026: Exam pattern

The exam is conducted in pen-and-paper mode and the total exam duration is 3 hours. The question paper is available in English language only. Candidates can check the official syllabus available here.

JEE Advanced AAT 2026: Syllabus

Freehand drawing: This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in appropriate scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objectslike furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.Geometrical drawing: Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, etc. Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders, etc.Three-dimensional perception: Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms with buildingelements, colour, volume and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity: Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity checkthrough innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application.Architectural awareness: Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity check through innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application.

JEE Advanced AAT 2026: Important dates

As per the schedule:

  1. AAT 2026 registration will start on June 1
  2. Last date to apply is June 2
  3. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 counselling will begin on June 2
  4. JEE Advanced AAT 2026 result will be declared on June 7
