UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission is starting the application process for UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026 today. The recruitment drive is for 7,994 Lekhpal posts, and the commission has also issued a revised category-wise vacancy list.If you are planning to apply, you can submit the online form from today through the official UPSSSC website. The recruitment has gained attention after changes were made to the reservation structure, mainly for OBC candidates.OBC reservation revised after objectionsEarlier, the commission released an advertisement showing fewer posts reserved for Other Backward Classes. This led to objections from backward class groups and political leaders, who said the 27 per cent OBC reservation rule was not followed.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the matter and directed the commission to follow reservation rules properly. After these instructions, UPSSSC prepared and released a revised vacancy list.New category-wise vacancy detailsAs per the revised list, OBC vacancies have increased from 1,441 to 2,158 posts. The number of Scheduled Caste posts has also risen from 1,426 to 1,679, while Scheduled Tribe posts have increased from 10 to 160.The number of posts for Economically Weaker Sections remains unchanged at 792. Due to the increase in reserved category posts, General category vacancies have been reduced by 905 and now stand at 3,205.
Application schedule, fee and age limitAccording to the notification, online applications are starting on December 29, 2025. The last date to apply online is January 28, 2026, and the fee payment deadline is the same day. The correction window will close on February 04, 2025.The application fee is Rs 25 for all categories, including General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, and PWD. Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on July 01, 2025.Eligibility, selection process and salaryCandidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised institution and must have qualified UPSSSC PET 2025.The selection process includes shortlisting based on PET scores, followed by a written exam, document verification, and a medical test. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary between Rs 21,700 and Rs 69,100, along with allowances as per government rules.
