MeitY launches Yuva AI for All free course to empower 10 million citizens with AI skills

The Government of India has recently launched ‘Yuva AI for All’, a free national course designed to help citizens understand Artificial Intelligence in simple ways. Announced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the IndiaAI Mission, the initiative focuses on students, young learners, and first-time AI users across the country.The objective of this course is to simplify AI, make it more user, friendly and open to everyone, particularly those who don’t have a technical background. In case you wonder how AI helps everyday life, this course is the perfect answer as it uses no complicated jargon. A free course designed for everyoneYuva AI for All is a short, self-paced course with a total duration of about 4.5 hours. It is open to students, professionals, and anyone interested in learning the basics of AI. The content uses real-life Indian examples to explain how AI is already part of education, work, creativity, and public services.The course is available at no cost on multiple learning platforms, including FutureSkills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, and other leading ed-tech portals. Learners can access the material anytime and complete it at their own pace. After successful completion, participants receive an official certificate issued by the Government of India.What students can learn from the courseThe programme is divided into six short modules. They familiarize learners with the basic concept of AI and how it operates in simplified terms. Students also understand how AI tools are being utilized in classrooms, offices, and creative industries. Besides, the modules provide safety and security when using AI technologies.The programme presents the examples of AI in the real world in India, thus helping learners to make a connection between the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. Besides, it offers a brief look at the future possibilities related to AI and new jobs. The material is centred on the ethical, responsible, and non, discriminatory use of AI systems.Building skills for Indias AI futureBy means of Yuva AI for All, MeitY is targeting to endow 1 crore, i. e. , 10 million people, with essential AI skills. This project is a step towards narrowing the digital gap and equipping the Indian workforce with the skills necessary in an AI, led economy.Schools, universities, and organisations can partner with the IndiaAI Mission to expand the course’s reach. Partners are allowed to integrate the course into their programmes, promote it among learners, and co-brand certificates.Developed with Indian context in focusThe course has been developed for the IndiaAI Mission by AI expert and author Jaspreet Bindra, Founder of AI & Beyond and Tech Whisperer Ltd. It blends global AI knowledge with India’s social and economic context.Yuva AI for All is in line with the government’s initiative to promote AI learning as a means of inclusion, making it more hands, on, and spreading it to every corner of the country.
