The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced a large recruitment drive under the Second Inter Level Combined Competitive Examination. A total of 24,492 posts are now available after the commission increased the earlier count of 23,175 vacancies.The extended application timeline gives more candidates a chance to apply, especially those who missed the first deadline. If you have passed the intermediate examination and want a government job in Bihar, this recruitment covers multiple departments across the state.Post wise vacancy detailsThe highest number of vacancies is for Lower Division Clerk, with 15,989 posts, including 6,793 unreserved seats. Revenue Clerk follows with 3,559 posts, of which 1,643 are unreserved, under the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.The Panchayat Secretary role has 3,532 posts with 1,746 unreserved seats in the Panchayati Raj Department. Other positions include Animal Assistant with 549 posts and Junior Regional Investigation Officer with 534 posts.Additional posts includedThe recruitment also lists posts such as Filaria Inspector, Public Servant Grade-III, Seed Production Assistant, Mobile Employee, Typist cum Clerk and Assistant Instructor. Reservation benefits apply only to permanent residents of Bihar.Salary structure and eligibilityThe pay scale varies by post. LDC, Animal Assistant and Revenue Clerk fall under Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200. Panchayat Secretary and Junior RIO carry a scale of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100.Filaria Inspector and Public Servant Grade-III posts offer Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100. The minimum qualification is intermediate pass from a recognised board, with mathematics required for Public Servant Grade-III.Age Limit and Selection ProcedureThe minimum age of applicants should be 18 years and the maximum age is 37 years as of August 1, 2025. Age relaxation is available for the categories mentioned, BC, EBC and women by 3 years, SC and ST by 5 years and PWD by 10 years.To be shortlisted, candidates will have to appear for a preliminary examination followed by a main examination and a skill test. If applications cross 40,000, the preliminary test becomes mandatory and exams may take place in multiple stages.Fees, dates and application processThe application fee is Rs. 100.
