The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, has opened the registration window for UPESMET 2026, the entrance test conducted for admission to its MBA programmes. The application process has begun online and is open to candidates seeking admission in the 2026 academic session. According to the university, interested applicants must complete the registration process by January 20, 2026. Forms submitted after the deadline will not be considered.UPES has also clarified that candidates are not limited to UPESMET alone. Applicants can apply for MBA admissions using scores from national-level management entrance exams. Interested candidates are advised to carefully check eligibility conditions and admission guidelines before submitting the form.

Multiple exam routes open for MBA aspirants

Candidates applying for UPES MBA programmes can use valid scores from CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, NMAT, and CMAT, apart from UPESMET. Applicants who have appeared for any of these exams can enter their scores during the online application process. Based on these scores, candidates may be shortlisted directly for the next stage of admission, as per UPES norms.To apply, you must visit the official UPES admissions website and register using a valid email ID and mobile number. After registration, fill out the application form using personal details, academic qualifications, and upload relevant documents. Candidates have to pay the application fee online. Eligibility criteria

The basic eligibility requirement for MBA admission at UPES is a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks from a recognised university. Some specialised MBA programmes may require higher marks. Final-year undergraduate students can also apply, subject to meeting eligibility criteria at the time of admission.Exam mode, selection process, and next stepsUPESMET 2026 will be conducted in remote proctoring online mode. Candidates are allowed to take the test from their own location if they meet the technical requirements. The test is designed to assess candidates on areas such as quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and general awareness.After the entrance exam or evaluation of national-level test scores, shortlisted candidates may be called for further selection rounds. These can include a group discussion and personal interview, depending on the programme and admission route. The final selection will be based on overall performance across all stages of the admission process.
