NEET UG 2025 syllabus released: How to prepare for the exam?

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the official syllabus for NEET UG 2026. Students planning to appear for NEET 2025 can use this syllabus to plan their preparation carefully. NEET UG is the single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. The NEET syllabus is based only on Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT textbooks. No extra topics are added. Following the official syllabus strictly helps avoid confusion and over-preparation.

Understand the syllabus

It is essential for the students to understand the core subjects. It comprises Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. The syllabus derives from Class 11th and 12th NCERT books. Focus only on what is listed in the official syllabus. Do not waste your time in spending your time in unnecessary areas.

Start with Biology

Biology carries the highest weight in NEET. Study both Botany and Zoology carefully. Pay attention to diagrams, examples, and NCERT lines. Topics comprise cell structure, physiology, genetics, evolution, biotechnology, ecology, and human welfare. You should make notes for revision.

Focus on Physics

Questions from the Physics section assess understanding and application of concepts. Cover topics like motion, laws of motion, work and energy, gravitation, thermodynamics, waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Practise formulas on a regular basis. Solve previous year questions to hone your understanding.

Master Chemistry

You can divide Chemistry into three sections such as: Physical, Organic, and Inorganic sections. Physical Chemistry needs you to understand concepts and solve numerical problems. Organic Chemistry focuses on reactions, functional groups, and biomolecules. In Inroganic Chemistry you will study the periodic table, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds.

Use NCERT as main material

Most NEET questions are asked directly from the NCERT textbooks. Read chapters thoroughly, revise on a regular basis. You should always make short notes for quick review.

Practice and revision

You should solve previous year’s questions and take the mock tests. Spot weak areas and revise them. Always remember, time management is the key.

Create a study plan

Prepare a daily and weekly timetable that takes into account all the subjects. You can put more efforts to weaker areas, but do not miss out on strong points. It is essential to be consistent.

Stay healthy and motivated

You must keep taking short breaks, eat well, and sleep properly. Think positively to stay motivated throughout the preparation journey.
