Mumbai: A traffic policewoman earned accolades after she saved the life of an ailing motorist at Wadala on Monday.Constable Dipali Mandale was manning Pooja Junction. “Northward traffic movement from Chembur towards Antop Hill had been stopped. Around 7 pm, I noticed the passenger in the front seat of a car rush towards the driver’s seat. Initially, I thought he wanted to swap seats with the driver. But I quickly realised something was wrong,” said Mandale. The driver had had a heart attack.Mandale rushed towards the vehicle and brought the driver outside the car. Laying him down on the street, she administered CPR with exceptional composure and presence of mind. She then directed the passenger to rush the driver to the nearest hospital. His life was saved due to her courageous act. Mandale said the traffic police are given training on how to administer CPR at the traffic training school.Social media users appreciated her act of courage and kindness.
