Rail Board clears Bengaluru–Mumbai bi-weekly train

BENGALURU: Railway Board has approved a bi-weekly train service between SMVT Bengaluru and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai to enhance long-distance connectivity between Karnataka and Maharashtra.According to the notification, journey takes 24 hours to cover the distance. Train number 16553 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 8.35pm and arrive at LTT at 8.40pm the following day. Conversely, the train will leave LTT at 11.15pm and reach Bengaluru at 10.30pm the next day.Departures from SMVT Bengaluru will occur Saturdays and Tuesdays, while departures from LTT will take place Sundays and Wednesdays.The train will make stops at key stations along the route, including Tumakuru, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Satara, Lonand, Pune, Lonavala, Karjat, Kalyan and Thane.The service will consist of 17 LHB coaches
