IndiGo travel advisory for December 19: Fog and low visibility to affect flight operations in Delhi, Varanasi |
As the winter weather continues to affect air travel across North India, IndiGo has issued fresh travel advisories for December 19. The airline has mentioned possible flight delays because of low visibility and fog conditions. It mentioned that flight operations in Varanasi and Delhi will be affected. As per the advisory shared late Wednesday night, foggy conditions over Varanasi are expected to stay till Thursday which will affect flight schedules majorly. IndiGo also stated that they are closely monitoring weather developments and that safety of passengers remains their top priority.On its official X handle, the airline mentioned, “Low visibility and fog conditions over Varanasi may continue to impact flight schedules tomorrow. We are proactively monitoring weather developments and aligning our operations to ensure safety remains the highest priority,” Passengers travelling to or from Varanasi have been strongly advised to stay updated before heading to the airport. The airline has also assured flyers that the teams across the network are fully prepared to offer assistance.In another travel advisory shared around 11 PM, the airline mentioned that Delhi is also expected to experience fluctuating visibility during the early hours of December 19. It stated,“Winter has a way of slowing things down. Tomorrow, visibility in #Delhi may vary again during the early hours, which could gently affect the flow of flight movements across parts of the network.”The airline again reassured passengers that passengers safety is their main concern. Staff are also assisting customers, coordinating departures, and ensuring that any waiting time is managed with care and clear communication.For those having early morning flights on 19 December, the airline recommends allowing extra time for reaching the airport, as fog can affect road traffic as well. Passengers are asked to check their flight status on the official flight page website only to avoid last-minute confusion and inconvenience.The airline also struck a hopeful note, pointing out that visibility conditions typically improve as the morning progresses. “As the morning settles in, conditions usually ease, and we remain focused on getting you on your way as smoothly as possible,” the advisory further read.These days, fog and weather related airline advisories have become common during the peak winter months, especially in the months of December and January across North India. Meanwhile, those flying on December 19 are advised to stay alert and plan ahead.
