My association with Bangalore Times goes back almost as far as my sporting journey. They were among the first to reach out whenever there was a signifi cant achievement or when I had something to say about my sport, and that encouragement meant a lot. I’ve always appreciated how Bangalore Times showcases achiev ers across disciplines. It features peo ple from diverse backgrounds and gives space to their opinions. That kind of storytelling creates a deeper connection and goes beyond results and medals. One memo ry from the early 2000s has stayed with me. At a time when the In dian cricket team wasn’t doing too well, Bangalore Times asked youngsters which sportsperson they felt deserved more limelight. Many mentioned my name. For me, that reflected how fairly the platform treated achievers from all sports. As Bangalore Times cel ebrates 28 years, I reflect on a relationship built on trust and re spect. Looking back now, I realise that it has been part of my jour ney in ways I may not have fully recognised at the time, and I am truly grateful for that.
