Driver flees without paying toll, staffer injured in Bengaluru | Bengaluru News
Bengaluru: Police started investigation after a video, which went viral on social media, showed a toll booth staffer at Electronics City flyover sustaining injuries when he clung to a mini-goods truck that did not pay toll.Cops are yet to confirm the identity of the staffer. Toll charges for four wheelers on the 10-km flyover are Rs 65 for a single journey and Rs 95 for multiple journeys on a single day. Any vehicle without FASTag is charged double the toll amount. The video of the incident was recorded on the dash camera of a car behind the mini- goods truck, which was travelling on Electronics City flyover from the direction of central business district (CBD). Cops are yet to receive a complaint about the incident. “But we are looking for the driver. We are collecting recordings from CCTV cameras installed at the tol booth so that we can trace the owner of the vehicle through its registration number,” a police officer said. “The driver of the mini-goods vehicle was trying to escape without paying toll. When the staffer assigned at the booth tried to reason with the driver, the latter drove away with the staffer clinging to the side of the vehicle. He fell after a distance of around 100 metres and escaped with injuries,” the officer added.
